Brescia appoints new Vice-Principal Advancement

London, ON – On February 2, 2015 Brescia University College will welcome a senior development professional to the newly-created position of Vice-Principal Advancement. Cathy Vitkauskas, currently the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations at the Ivey Business School, is highly regarded in her field, and has achieved tremendous results as both a fundraiser and a steward of countless donors and alumni during her 16-year tenure at Ivey.

Vitkauskas joined Ivey in 1999 and has implemented successful development and campaign strategies, resulting in her securing over $11 million in major gifts, and growing the Ivey Annual Fund from $1.2 million to $4.9 million. As a member of the Ivey Advancement leadership team, she has extensive volunteer management experience, partnering with senior fundraising volunteers and Advisory Board members. Her broad-based and disciplined approach to development will enhance the fundraising, stewardship, alumnae relations, marketing, and communications operations at Brescia, where her work will focus on all of these strategic areas.

Vitkauskas will take her place on Brescia’s newly formed Principal’s Cabinet as the VP Advancement, joining VP colleagues in the portfolios of VP and Academic Dean, VP Students, and VP Finance and Administration. Brescia Principal Colleen Hanycz says of the appointment, “Cathy comes to Brescia with a strong and enduring track record in Advancement and I know that she will bring great strength to our leadership team here as a key member of the Cabinet. I look forward to Cathy’s leadership in advancing Brescia through development, alumnae relations and communications, marketing and external relations.”

Vitkauskas is looking forward to the work ahead and says, “I am thrilled to be joining the outstanding faculty and staff at Brescia. I look forward to contributing to the academic excellence and education of the next generation of confident and compassionate women leaders for whom Brescia is so well known.”
