Brescia University College’s new library is named after alumna Beryl (Nurse) Ivey ’47, lead benefactor of the Library Expansion Campaign.
Beryl Ivey Library Mission:
The Beryl Ivey Library provides excellent informational services, access to resources and space for research and study to meet the educational needs of the Brescia University College community.
Brescia’s collection is close to 60,000 volumes, with one-third of the collection unique to the College.
Brescia’s library was originally built in the 1960s. The main floor was 4864 square feet and the mezzanine level is 2737 square feet. The expansion added an additional 4189 square feet to the main floor. The Beryl Ivey Library is 11790 square feet.
The expansion includes:
•Four group study rooms
•An expanded computer laboratory
•An accessible reference section
•An expanded circulation area
•A wireless network with portable notebooks available for students sign out
•Computer workstations and printers
•New data projectors, screens and audiovisual equipment
•Library security system
•Improved collection of resource materials
•Ergonomically designed furnishings

•1,000 visitors per day
•4,600 circulation activities per month
