News Release

London, ON –Brescia University College was recognized as a national leader in web site design for post-secondary education when it was awarded twice as Most Innovative and Best Prospective Student or Admissions Web site at the eduStyle Higher-ed Web Awards in June. eduStyle is a company that recognizes excellence in web development; this year marked the first Canadian regional awards.

Of the 15 categories that recognize the most innovative web developments in higher education, each category had a recipient for “Judged” and “People’s Choice” that is determined by online voting. Brescia was the winner in both areas with the Most Innovative award and also received the “Judged” award in the Prospective Student or Admissions category.

Director of Communications, Marketing, and External Relations at Brescia, Sheila Blagrave, explains the rationale behind the newest project, “We wanted to create an interactive and highly compelling web presence to communicate our story to prospective students. Working with existing photos and videos, Resolution Interactive Media (ResIM) were able to add an introductory video and create a playground of sorts for students to access from their laptops, tablets, and smartphones. We hoped to connect with students emotionally and move them to chat, e-mail, or continue the ‘dialogue’ with a recruitment officer.”

Brescia’s web resource team is housed in the Communications and Marketing department and is also supported by the work of ResIM, a local award-winning web and mobile development company based out of London and Toronto. Jonathan Kochis, Partner at ResIM, says, “We wanted to create a simple, memorable experience that clearly communicates the benefits of attending Brescia. Video is used to deliver a straightforward message while the one-page approach helps the site stand out in the PSE recruitment space.”

The awards were recognized at Canada’s University and College Digital Marketing Conference held in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 24 and 25.
